Online Sequencer

Online Sequencer is a free music sequencer that runs in your browser. You sketch songs on a piano-roll grid, press play and hear them instantly. There is also a huge community library, so you can open other people's creations to see how they were made, which is a great way to learn. It is good for beginners who want to try composing without installing anything, and for people who enjoy remixing silly tunes from familiar melodies. The grid is straightforward: place a note, listen, adjust. The site is ad-supported, so expect ads around the editor. It is best on a desktop with a mouse, because the grid is fiddly on a small screen. Start by opening a popular community song, change a few notes to see what happens, and then try building something from scratch. If you want something more chiptune-flavored, BeepBox is a similar option on our list.
