About odd-sites.com: The Odd Web, Checked Daily
About odd-sites.com
The odd web, checked daily.
odd-sites.com is a curated directory of strange, delightful, weird and wonderful websites. It has one big button, Take me somewhere odd, and a couple of hundred hand-picked destinations behind it: playable explainers, endless horses, shortwave radio, live bear cams, tiny games, a whole Windows 98 in a tab.
Why it exists
The web is still full of wonderful oddities, but they are hard to find and they keep dying. Lists of "weird websites" tend to be written once and never checked, so half the links lead to parked domains and casinos. We wanted something better: a directory where a person has looked at every site, and a machine checks every link, every day.
Who runs it
odd-sites.com is curated by a small editorial team. We choose the sites, write the descriptions, assign categories, moods and content notes, and decide what stays and what goes. We are people, not a feed, and we try to keep the voice warm and the facts accurate. If we are not sure a site does what we say it does, we visit it again.
What you will find
- Categories: 17 hubs, from Interactive and Oddly Educational to Creepy & Eerie and Webcams & Live.
- Lists: curated collections such as Weird Websites, Calming Websites and Websites Like Neal.fun.
- Moods: calm, silly, brainy, spooky, nostalgic and satisfying.
- Badges: every site shows how long it takes to enjoy (30 seconds, 5 minutes or a rabbit hole), whether it works on mobile, any content notes (flashing images, loud audio, sign-in walls, heavy ads) and its current link health.
Our promise: daily link checks
We check every link once a day. If a site goes down, gets parked, is sold or is taken over by something unrelated, we notice, and it stops appearing on the button and in lists. Read the details in How We Check Links. That is the only thing we promise. We cannot promise a site is safe, permanent or suitable for you, and a link check is not a security audit. We do, however, try to flag what we know about each site.
What we are not
We are not a social network. The sites we list belong to their creators, and we are not affiliated with them unless we say so.
How to submit a site
Know a great one? Send it through the submission form. Please read the submission guidelines first, so you know what we accept. If we add your find, we credit you on the site's page, and if you made it, you can claim your entry by email verification.
